Great post. Interesting sandbox theories too.

Isn't it a no-brainer that it's easier to rank with unique/useful content than it is with deceptive SEO though? Afterall, content is king for a reason.

I'm interested to read more about how you approached your campaign this time around. Did you rely solely on content to get BL's or did you actively seek them? Did you submit, or let the SE's find you? etc, etc

Blog about what comes across your mind cos this is good stuff esp for a newb like me. About the Matt thing I prefer to think from a user's point of view, even got some people to browse the site to see their reaction, and it's amazing what you can pick to improve just by watching them. Of course quering them helps too.

For me, I like that you telling it like it is and are "one of us" and your writing style is great. Can't believe I read a long post with such ease. Keep it rockin' buddy.

Hi RDJ: Thanks for the comment, glad to hear you like the blog/angle.

It's funny--I'm not really sure what niche I'm in either... it will probably take a few weeks to find out, and to see what kind of posts people enjoy. Then I'll head more in that direction.

Right now I'm thinking I will mostly blog about industry conferences, personal experiences at those conferences and my own take as an SEO Loser on some industry news--maybe adding an occassional SEO post like this that is really more for recording my own thoughts than anything else :)

Like your blog, like your angle. I'm unsure what niche you're in, but good luck.
